For U.S. CITIZENS: US Consulate Of Dubai

US Consulate Of Dubai

If you need specific information about the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai (US Consulate Of Dubai), such as its address, contact details, services, or opening hours, I recommend visiting the official website of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in the UAE or contacting them directly for the most up-to-date information.

Embassy and consulate websites typically provide comprehensive information about their services, visa applications, and other relevant details.

If you are currently abroad and your passport expired on or after January 1, 2020, you might be able to go immediately back to the United States using that expired passport until December 31, 2021.

If all of the following are true, you are eligible for this exception:

  • You are a citizen of the US.
  • You are now searching for a direct flight back to the US.
  • You are traveling directly from a foreign country to the United States or a United States territory, or you have only a brief layover (“connecting flights”) before continuing on your journey.
  • Your passport’s initial validity was for ten years. Alternatively, if you were under the age of 15 when the passport was granted, its remaining validity was five years.
  • Your old passport is still valid.
  • Your old passport is still valid.
  • You are in possession of your expired passport.

You are ineligible for this exception if:

  • You want to leave the country of the United States to travel abroad.
  • You are currently overseas and intend to travel to another nation for a stay longer than an airport layover in order to get to the US or a US territory.
  • Your passport’s validity had expired.
  • Your out-of-date passport is a special issue passport (like a diplomatic, official, service, or regular passport that doesn’t cost anything).
  • Your damaged passport is out of date.
  • Your changed passport is out of date.
  • You don’t have your old passport on you.

Processing times for passports right now:

  • Currently, it takes 3–4 weeks for the US Consulate in Dubai and the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi to process passport applications. It may not be possible to accelerate passport processing done abroad.
  • Currently, standard passport services in the US take 10–12 weeks. Due to upcoming international travel, you may pay an additional $60 fee to expedite your passport if you need it in less time than 10 to 12 weeks.
