Types of Algerian visas?

The following visas are provided by the Algerian government:

  • Foreign people needing a visa who are visiting Algeria for leisure or tourism are awarded an Algeria tourist visa.
  • Businessmen, company representatives, and employees of foreign businesses who are traveling to Algeria on business are eligible to apply for an Algeria business visa. However, a visa of this kind does not grant permission to carry out paid employment in Algeria.
  • Foreign nationals traveling to Algeria to visit friends or family members living there are granted a visitor visa.
  • A diplomatic, official, or service passport, as well as a UN laissez-passer, are required for holders of an Algerian official or diplomatic visa who are traveling on business.
  • Foreign nationals who have been given permission to work in Algeria permanently are issued an Algeria Work Visa.

Algeria Visa Document Requirements?

You must have the following documents when you apply for an Algerian visa:

  • Your original passport, which must still be valid after entering Algeria for at least another six months. It must contain at least one blank page where the visa can be attached.
  • Photocopies of the pertinent pages from your passport are required (certain consulates may want copies of every page, even blank ones).
  • Completed and signed visa application form for Algeria. The parent or legal representative must sign the application form if the applicant is a minor. The application form is available for download from the website of the consulate or embassy. Ensure the information is filled out legibly and clearly.
  • Passport-size picture of yourself, which follows the following requirements:
    • Dimensions: 35 mm x 45mm
    • Taken within the last three months
    • Colored and taken in front of a white background
    • The picture must show your entire face and head
    • It must be printed in high-quality photo paper
    • You must be starting ahead with a neutral facial expression.

  • If you have an Algerian host, they can issue you with an invitation letter, or you can get one through a travel agency there. In Algeria, the invitation letter must be notarized at the municipal building or a public notary office.
  • A copy of the passport, ID, or consular card (if applicable) of your host.
  • Proof of job status may be a letter from your employer, business records, your tax return, etc.
  • Paystubs or bank statements are acceptable forms of financial documentation.
  • Flight itinerary or reserved ticket.
  • Include a pre-paid, self-addressed envelope with your application by mail if you want the embassy or consulate to return your passport and other paperwork.
  • Include a notarized letter of authorisation to apply on your behalf if you are using a proxy.
  • Proof of payment of the Algerian visa fee, as required by the embassy or consulate.
  • Include a letter of agreement from the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) saying that they approve of the youngster traveling alone when applying for a visa for a minor.

Required documents for Algeria Tourist Visa:
A hotel reservation, or an invitation from your host, is proof that you have somewhere to stay in Algeria.

Required documents for Algeria Business Visa:

  • Letter from your employer describing your position within the organization, the purpose of your trip, and reiterating their commitment to paying for your expenditures.
  • A letter of invitation from the Algerian business you will be dealing with or visiting.

Documents needed for a visitor visa to Algeria:

  • A letter of invitation from your Algerian hosts. In Algeria, the letter must be notarized at the municipal building or a public notary office.
  • A photocopy of your host’s passport, ID, or visa.
